Income Is Not Wealth
One of the strange things about physician income is how easily it can disguise bad financial habits.
Going from residency income to $300K, $400K or more can feel like you’ve solved the money problem. You haven’t. You’ve just been given a really powerful tool.
The number I care about more than income is the gap between what comes in and what goes out. That’s where wealth gets built.
High income creates opportunity. It doesn’t automatically create wealth.
The gap is boring. It’s also where the magic happens.
