Best Place to Work
Being awarded with ๐๐ฒ๐๐ ๐ฃ๐น๐ฎ๐ฐ๐ฒ๐ ๐๐ผ ๐ช๐ผ๐ฟ๐ธ ๐ถ๐ป ๐ข๐บ๐ฎ๐ต๐ฎ has stoked my gratefulness for our Pattern team.
It has also led me to consider:
My mind took me back to the first few chapters of Genesis in the bible.
God created Adam.
What was the first thing God gave Adam?
Not Eve.
God gave Adam a ๐ซ๐ฐ๐ฃ. He gave him ๐๐ผ๐ฟ๐ธ to do. Even in a perfect world, before sin's toxicity invades, God wired us to actively participate in advancing and cultivating his creation.
Since God invented man and work, it's no wonder that embracing His principles and ordinances for life, relationships, and work produce maximum impact.
So, what are some of those biblical principles that make a great place to work? Here are few off the top of my head:
โข๐๐ผ๐๐ถ๐ป๐ด the people you work with - 1 Corinthians 13:4-6, Ephesians 1:16
Colossians 3:23, Romans 12:11
โขLeading through ๐๐ฒ๐ฟ๐๐ถ๐ป๐ด - Ephesians 6:7
โขNo compromising ๐๐ฟ๐๐๐ต - Ephesians 6:14
โขMaintaining a ๐ท๐ผ๐๐ณ๐๐น and ๐ด๐ฟ๐ฎ๐๐ฒ๐ณ๐๐น attitudes - 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
โขDoing what you say you will do - Matthew 5:37
โข๐๐๐ป - not joking - Ecclesiastes 2:24-25
Making a great place to work requires everybody's buy-in to these principles. Any violation of these principles will cause a breakdown and deliver less than desirable results.
These principles are not complicated, but they are difficult to execute and live out. But it is ๐ช๐ข๐ฅ๐ง๐ ๐๐ง.
What other biblical principals do you think of that should be added to this list?
